Giuseppe Vasari (1934-2005, Italy), gilt and silvered metal chess set depicting the 1815 Battle of Waterloo with the French side led by Napoleon Bonaparte and the British allied army under the command of Gebhard Leberecht von Blucher, Prince of Wahlstatt. 2 tone green and white onyx checkered playing surface with relief decorated apron with battle scene panels and stands on figural horse feet at the corners. Figures are signed "Vasari", excellent condition. 8.75 in. high x 20.75 in. wide x 20.75 in. deep. Weight: 34.5 lbs.
