French Industrial Foundryman Mantle Clock. Bronze case on a black marble base, has the furnace to the left and the steam hammer to the right with a figural foundry worker shaping a metal rod; the hammer acts as the compound pendulum which is linked to the movement underneath the case. The 2.5 in. metal dial is mounted on the front of the furnace with the round French brass 8 day spring driven movement inside of the case, signed with "GLT" mark for Guilmet. In working condition, strike mechanism has been removed from the movement. 16.25 in. high x 12.75 in. wide x 8 in. deep. Weight: 22.25 lbs.
