French Bronze "Queen Victoria" Silk Thread Mantle Clock. Exceptional fire gilded case with standing figure of Queen Victoria holding a book and leaning against a console beside her cloak, crown and scepter, has a fancy relief decorated base with hanging fruit, and 2 winged angel figures flanking her coat of arms in the center. 3.5 in. dia. porcelain dial is signed "Sifflet J'nel, a Paris" has black Roman hour numerals and pierced gilt filigree hands; round brass 8 day spring driven silk thread suspension movement signed "Sifflet J'ne, a Paris" and "Japy Freres" has a half hour strike on a bell. Main spring is broken, clock strikes, single faint hairline in the dial, case is in beautiful condition. 22 in. high x 19 in. wide x 7 in. deep. Weight: 30.5 lbs.
